DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
Whether you are a budding children’s yoga teacher, a classroom teacher who wants to incorporate yoga with your students, a parent or friend to young children, or simply curious – this training is for you!  During this weekend intensive, you will learn the benefits of children’s yoga, how to plan and implement a class, behavior management strategies, and ways to make postures and yoga principles fun for even the youngest of yogis.

Children learn through hands on exploration, use of their senses, and play!  You will learn to create a fun and interactive class where kids experience yoga through music, movement, games and storytelling.  Children will tap into their imagination and creativity to move their bodies while building core strength, flexibility, and balance.  Also included are strategies for offering breath work and meditation in a playful way to engage our young yogis, providing a joyful foundation for a lifetime of yoga.

Michelle Symonds, your training instructor, has over twenty years of experience working with young children as a teacher, principal and yoga teacher.  She will share her knowledge and experience while facilitating a space for participants to share ideas and co-create a weekend of learning, creation and possibilities!  You will come away with a tool kit full of lesson plans, creative movement ideas, games, songs and stories, and the confidence to lead your very own kid’s yoga class or to infuse yoga into your interactions with the special children in your life.
