Heidi Lehto
Heidi teaches a Forrest-based Vinyasa Flow that is focused on alignment, mindful self-exploration, and intentional movement. With a background in competitive gymnastics, she understands the importance of alignment to target specific muscles and tissues through asana, as well as to protect the body from injury. However, she believes that a pose should fit a person’s body- and not the other way around. Her teaching style empowers her students to tune into their own bodies' wisdom and explore how flow can positively impact their lives. Yoga came into her life in 1995 and she became more fully immersed during college with mindfulness based yoga focused on meditation. Practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area highlighted the therapeutic benefits of yoga, as she recovered from ankle surgery and reduced the re-occurrence of a repetitive shoulder dislocation. In 2012, she was proud to be a part of Pete Guinosso’s inaugural Lighting the Path teacher training at Yoga Tree (SF) with special attention paid to compassionate assists, a spiritual yet light-hearted approach, and connection to personal wisdom. She believes that yoga can benefit everyone- as the heart of the practice is simply breath!
