Teresa Coker
Teresa offers an invitation for students to deepen the listening to their body and mind in class, and play the edges of strength, endurance and adventure. She enjoys creating sequences from several sources, including the energy in the room. Her classes explore flow, breath, balance and alignment, utilizing vinyasa, hatha and yin techniques. Humor and music lend their support to her students in finding their inner rhythm and living the present fully.
Teresa first came to yoga for relief from a stressful job, and fell into a class in Cincinnati with Lilias Folan, the "First Lady of Yoga". It felt right on many levels, and became her survival tool and key to healing and self-expression. Her experience in music education and performance are also a strong influence for her own yoga practice and teaching. Studies with other Master Teachers include Ana Forrest, Doug Swenson, Jonny Kest, Robert Boustany, Misha Laird, and Sean Johnson. She completed her Hatha Yoga Certification in 1996, and is registered as an E-RYT 200/RYT200 with Yoga Alliance. Teresa has been teaching yoga for over 14 years. She continues to study, take classes and workshops often. Her favorite teacher is relationship - with her beloved husband, family, friends and students.
